On model-checking timed automata with stopwatch observers

چکیده
In this paper we study the model-checking problem for weighted timed automata and the weighted CTL logic ; we also study the finiteness of bisimulations of weighted timed automata. Weighted timed automata are timed automata extended with costs on both edges and locations. When the costs act as stopwatches, we get stopwatch automata with the restriction that the stopwatches cannot be reset nor tested. The weighted CTL logic is an extension of TCTL that allows to reset and test the cost variables. Our main results are: (i) the undecidability of the proposed model-checking problem for discrete and dense time in general, (ii) its PSpaceCompleteness in the discrete case, and its undecidability in the dense case, for a slight restriction of the weighted CTL Logic, (iii) the precise frontier between finite and infinite bisimulations in the dense case for the subclass of stopwatch automata.

Model-Checking for Weighted Timed Automata
We study the model-checking problem for weighted timed automata and the weighted CTL logic by the bisimulation approach. Weighted timed automata are timed automata extended with costs on both edges and locations. When the costs act as stopwatches, we get stopwatch automata with the restriction that the stopwatches cannot be reset and tested. The weighted CTL logic is an extension of TCTL that a...
متن کاملA Kleene-Schützenberger Theorem for Weighted Timed Automata
During the last years, weighted timed automata (WTA) have received much interest in the real-time community. Weighted timed automata form an extension of timed automata and allow us to assign weights (costs) to both locations and edges. This model, introduced by Alur et al. (2001) and Behrmann et al. (2001), permits the treatment of continuous consumption of resources and has led to much resear...
متن کاملCosts Are Expensive!
We study the model-checking problem for WMTL, a costextension of the linear-time timed temporal logic MTL, that is interpreted over weighted timed automata. We draw a complete picture of the decidability for that problem: it is decidable only for the class of one-clock weighted timed automata with a restricted stopwatch cost, and any slight extension of this model leads to undecidability. We fi...
متن کاملPolynomial Interrupt Timed Automata
Interrupt Timed Automata (ITA) form a subclass of stopwatch automata where reachability and some variants of timed model checking are decidable even in presence of parameters. They are well suited to model and analyze real-time operating systems. Here we extend ITA with polynomial guards and updates, leading to the class of polynomial ITA (PolITA). We prove that reachability is decidable in 2EX...
متن کامل0 M ay 2 00 8 MODEL CHECKING ONE - CLOCK PRICED TIMED AUTOMATA PATRICIA
We consider the model of priced (a.k.a. weighted) timed automata, an extension of timed automata with cost information on both locations and transitions, and we study various model-checking problems for that model based on extensions of classical temporal logics with cost constraints on modalities. We prove that, under the assumption that the model has only one clock, model-checking this class ...
